Gavin T. Richardson on the Chaucernet mailing list just created something I wish I had when I was applying to graduate schools: A list of tips for students in regards to approaching, dealing with, and thanking professors who write letters of recommendation. My letter writing process went smoothly for the most part but I did lose a lot of sleep and gain a lot of anxiety over worrying that I was breaking some sort of unspoken etiquettes regarding them as the process went on. A guide like this would have put me at ease. As I begin to think about looking at schools to do my Ph.D work at this will be a useful guide.
